I have doubled up on everything and it is ridiculous. BASTARD!!! The next two gears (the middle wheel and escapement wheel) are pretty simple so I wont bore you by describing them in any detail provided youve got a good eye for accuracy and keep each gear balanced correctly you shouldnt have any trouble making them. Anyway, I won't have all the working lines and labels on my finished clock so it should look better. This is a detail of one of the cut, scored, folded and glued paper 'sticks.' I've had a little experience attempting creations with papier-mache - a madening process for anything large-ish. See pages that link to and include this page. This part was very fiddly because the section is so small but still requires a high level of accuracy; I had to dismantle it the first time because the balance was slightly off.

You can see in the pictures that all I have at the moment is a pile of paper sticks. I can see it becoming a bit of an addiction. It doesnt tick tock and a few hours later, all by itself the decended. Best of luck with it! And spray adhesive to alleviate problems printing onto card stock. Its getting boring now& Really really boring Finally, attach the weights and pendulum and a suitably geeky clock face (although the book has cover and clock face its tremendously boring and after wasting a lot of time making the damn thing it seems really stupid to cover the mechanism). When all three wheels and the anchor are correctly mounted the clock should work a bit. A photography technique pioneered by douche bags on myspace, it gives a real sense of depth to your emotionless prepubescent face& The second part you gotta make is this gear thing (the motor wheel) which is a complete pain in the arse! The motor wheel has a pretty well designed frame (unlike the other two gears which can deform if youre not careful, I used a load of books (Terry Pratchett FTW!!!) to keep each disk flat whilst the glue dried) which is made out of an equilateral triangle with a second piece forming a circle around it however getting the teeth of both sides of the gear lined up is pretty difficult. 24365d85ca
